Wikileaks - Full Uk Postcode Data

Recommended Posts

You probably don't want it then.

You get taxed to create the data and then you also have to pay many thousands for the privilege of using it.

If you ever make internet postcode lookups etc then it is very useful.

Whats the best way to open it, it is an awful massive file!

import it into a database.

or wordpad.

If you are not going to stick it in/use it as a database, it is pretty useless to you tbh

Guest Skinty

Linux, Java, mysql, bzip ... all free to use.

Thanks. I've saved this. Might well find it useful one day.

I am downloading it but why do I want it... and why is it such a secret?

It's hardly a secret, the information is "freely" available anyway but there is generally a charge.

This sort of information is only any good if it's up to date and that is what you get when you pay for it.

Cheers for the link any way, I have downloaded it and it will be useful for some side projects I have on the go, but I have the full database available at work.
