Gordon The Great, Live Speech At 2.15 Today.

I agree with the majority of the attacks on the current gov on this thread, but ...

:(

I agree. Short of doing something "unpatroitic" like putting a big lump of gunpowder under central London Guy-Fawkes-style and wiping the slate clean, what would you suggest?

Whatever happens over the next 2 years and whoever gets in "power", taxes will rise and public spending will be reduced. I can only hope that the sh1thole of a country that results is so unattractive to foreigners that we at least get some of our national identity back, but sadly i think even this is hopeful thinking. I truly hate this country and i feel for previous generations that have fought for it.

Quite! Thing is they probably weren't fighting for the sh1thole that has now been forced on us with the open buttocked acceptance of "the free market" into every aspect of life. I believe previous generations were at least as smart as the present one and all the evidence seems to support that contention!

Why isn't anybody blaming Blair for anything?

I'll be the first to say that GB has been a disaster, but who was in the top job for all those years?

Apart from Iraq, I never seem to hear Saint Tone blamed for anything from dirty hospitals to the 40% increase in public sector workers, to the tsunami of bossy, interfering legislation on just about everything.

I have to agree completely.

Its funny how everyone slags off Gordon Brown, even though Tony Blair is to blame for most of this. He got out at the right time - could see the experiment failed, and left it to Gordon to pick up the pieces.

Personally, I think Gordon Brown is incompetent, and living in "fantasyisland". I think Tony Blair is pure evil.

I'd prefer Gordon Brown to Tony Blair any day of the week.

That said, most of the cabinet of NuLabour are evil, and have their own agenda.

I used to look forward to hearing the news of Gordon resigning, but now, I'd rather not, as there are some in that party who are far worse. We need a GE asap, but its too late to aviod much of the damage and hardship we will experience for the next decade of so.

Just to test the new format could I thank all the posters on this thread for their contributions.

The general consensus appears to be that Gordon has raised the bar for a conference speech. Well done Gordon. Your country is behind you

Edit to say. Could we have the "latest posts" link back please. I prefer to graze
