Gordon Brown: voters will see I led world during financial crisis

Gordon Brown has said that voters will back Labour at the next election once they realise that he has "led the world" out of recession.

Gordon Brown, seen arriving in Brighton for the Labour Party's annual conference, has said voters will see how he helped steer Britain through the economic crisis. Photo: REUTERS Rejecting speculation that he would stand aside before the poll for the good of the party, the Prime Minister said that he had fought his whole life and would do so again..

And while voters had "suspended judgment" on the Government following the recession and MPs expenses scandal - which had left the "whole of politics in disrepute" - the public would come to realise that he had taken the "right" decisions at every stage of the crisis.

I see their slogan was something like "Labour : driving the economic recovery" or something like that, on a big banner.

Shouldn't it say; "Labour : driving the economic recovery and hoping everyone forgets we took them in" ??

“We are a campaign, a movement, a crusade for a socially just country...(The U.K. must continue to) invest the way out of recessionâ€

Social justice and borrowing our way out of debt. What does that mean? How are the 2 concepts related?

Work our way out of recession I understand. Social justice by turning back the police state I understand. But what evidence is there of either being in the mind of our dear leader?

Would this be the social justice of me working myself to death (very nearly) and paying people who couldn't be bothered to live in houses I would never be able to afford?

I liked the description George Galloway gave him on sportstalk last night "A miserable, pathetic failure". Couldn't have put it better myself.

Not credible coming from the odious George Galloway. Coming from a figure we can Respect (excuse the pun), I would concur.

Disagree with a lot of his views myself but the more this destructive, egotistical, theiving Incompetent is discredited publicly the better. I want to see this to**er utterly humiliated at the next election and go out with a whimper.

Gordon Brown has said that voters will back Labour at the next election once they realise that he has "led the world" out of recession.

The sad thing is that there is only a minority who will see through all the lies. Many I know do think that Brown has 'saved the world's' economy. The mere suggestion that he mismanaged our economy to the extent that we are still up shit creek is readily dismissed by many I know, so many people people swallow what they are spoon fed by the BBC without actually thinking about what is going on.

Like the BBC breakfast news report the day the fuel duty went up yet another 2p. Their line was that 'thank heavens fuel is so much cheaper than it is on the Continent' and proceeded to tell us in £ how much the fuel in Germany and France was - what they neglected to tell us was this is only the case as the £ is so weak but there is never any debate about why exactly the pound is worth so much less than it was.
