Marc Faber, Emerging Market Economies Will Challenge And Surpass The West

Recommended Posts

That picture makes me wonder why we all fret so much about economics. We all end up dead. Perhaps we should spend more time worrying about the things that really matter, and enhance our lives.... our relationships, our hobbies, our passions, our... dare I say it.... souls!

that's the sentiment that got Labour elected in the first place

it works fine until you run out of other peoples' money to pay the bills

Faber the legend.

Massive transfer or wealth ongoing from West to East.

He's right. Sort of. On the 'western front'. Especially the village idiot bit (hi there!)

I can understand why he's bullish on Thailand, for reasons the mind does not want to contemplate, but he's wrong on that one. This place and surrounding countries are in deep doo-doo as well. But their living standards are already a bit sh!t, the West is just about ready to join them now.

He's wrong on war. Won't happen. Nuclear bombs prevent that.

Have you seen the "lets all get rid on nukes" thing the UN is having?

Yes I did.

I wondered at the time if that was the idea.

I still can't see how killing millions of people solves anything. Solves 'what' for 'who', I guess is the right question.

They also 'owe' fvck all.

Can't see the masters wanting to kill off the slaves.

Seriously, I really doubt global warfare will happen because of this financial cr@p. Energy and countries not being self-sufficient in basic human needs (which I guess is part oft this financial cr@p) is the biggie.

DIG ON FOR VICTORY!

I hope you know what you are talking about ;)

What possible feckin' difference would it make if it turns out to be true?

Civil war here is a real possibility. Marc knows that, so I never understand his bullishness regards the place we both reside.

Do you have a cunning plan for a quick getaway if something like that happens? Where would you fancy living, if not there?

Serious discussion with sister (the one from France) about this. Soon as King dies, load truck, head for Lao border. I think it will take longer to boil than that.

As an economic history buff, he sees things in long timescales. Countries have civil wars then recover over the years (seemed to do e.g. France quite a bit of good). He also has homes in Switzerland, New Zealand, etc. and can bail very easily.

He's pretty fixed on this place. Spent a lot of money in Chiang Mai, nice gaff. He's usually welded to his spot at Bar Linda.

I think he's got a place in Hungary too.
