Madoff "victims" To Be Sued

Recommended Posts

The disclosure, contained in court papers filed in New York, brings forth the prospect of Madoff victims pursuing other "victims" who withdrew more than they had invested, thinking they were withdrawing some of the profit from their investments.

Does this mean that those who bought houses in 2007 will get to sue STRs and downsizers? What about deceased estates? And broken families?

Silly question, but the principle is exactly the same.

I agree. I just cannot see how the losers can sue the winners in any form of investment

Because it was a pyramid scheme. People who ebetered the scheme late and llost money are sueing those that joined the scheme early and made a profit. Those that made a profit did so at the expense of those that made a lose.

It's a pyramid scheme, not an investment..

Perfectly reasonable if you ook at it that way.

Housing is also a pyramid scheme.

Bring on the lawers!
