Darling Asks Banksters To Not Pay "eye-watering" Bonuses

Recommended Posts

Staff in its investment banking arm Barclays Capital will be in line for eye-watering remuneration packages. Other investment banks are also expected to generate huge profits.

One banker familiar with the talks said: “Bonuses and elections are a potent cocktail. The government knows it is the last thing it wants on its plate.†One unsubstantiated suggestion is that the government wants its two state-controlled banks, Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group, to delay their bonuses until after June next year.

The voters will remember "light touch" Gordon when they vote at the GE. All the time the banksters can, they will continue to rob the banks by paying themselves handsomley with taxpayers money. Who can stop them? Pass 400m from bankster A to bankster B and you generate a 10% bonus of 40m that bankster A divides with bankster B. What could be simpler?

The problem is the 1 year attitude.

Massive losses one year and massive profits the next should only equate to breaking even, disregarding bailouts.

Instead bonuses the first year because it was contracted, and bonuses the 2nd because of the massive 'profit'.

Are they using the QE money to pay the bonuses that the rest of us will eventually have to pay for?

What I can't understand is where is all this money coming from, if it is truly real should it not be invested back to stabilise the financial and economic futures of our children and our country......

I have a bit of advice for Mr Darling don't ask them not to pay pay bonuses, TELL them not to pay.

We own most of the banks now, if the board doesn't like being Darling giving them instructions, sack them.

"Alistair Darling has held a series of private meetings with the City’s bank bosses pleading with them to show restraint over the size of this year’s bonuses."

Fat chance. What does this Alistar Darling do again? oh yes he bails out banks using taxpayer's money.

i really think the thread title should be "Dog Asks Master for Treat"
