Harperson Forgets Name Of 1st Female Prime Minister

Is it possible that Brown must be kept in case we go from utterly awful to outstandingly moronic?

Just how small do you have to be to list every female whose ever done anything, no matter how trivial - "first Asian woman councillor in Britain", for example - and name every single one of them, but when reaching the reasonably important one of "UK's first woman Prime Minister" to miss out the name?

Thatcher will be devastated to be slighted by Harperson, of course

It's a common coping strategy of those who have lived through mental horror to force that horror into the forgotten recesses of the unconscious mind.

Wasn't it "Goddess on a mountain top, and Venus was her name"?

Surely you're thinking:

Ivory Madonna dying in the dust,

Waiting for the manna coming from the west.

We're massively in debt and still the Government pisses away money on toss like this?

It still amazes me that people willingly vote Labour.

What a silly and petty omission.

Becoming Britain's first woman prime minister was Margaret Thatcher's only lasting achievement, but it was a major achievement.

But Thatcher was not averse to saying ridiculous things herself - such as 'We are a grandmother' and 'there's no such thing as society'.

The thing is that Margaret Thatcher (like Neil '"W'all right!, w'all right!' Kinnock) new how to do 'stupid' with great panache, gusto and style. Ex Blair's Babes are just damp squibs by comparison.

She left out some historical figures too. Like the Virgin Queen, or that earlier queen on a chariot.

I expect she meant a list of Politically-Correct mediocrities, with a grudging mention of one or two significant figures like Astor and someone-in-1979.

Don't panic though, come June 2010 at the latest they're finished with and then we won't see them in power again for a generation.

I wouldn't call being devastated coping with it.

;)
