Northamptonshire, Number Of Rental Properties Down 8% In One Month !

Recommended Posts

From the Northampton thread:

This months Northampton rental figures ( NN1 + 10 miles ) are, as of 9 aUG 2009 :

above 600pcm - 527

between 500 and 600 pcm - 709

below 500 pcm - 927

total number - 2163 - down 4% looks like we have gone past the peak rental market !!!!

Big drop, around 10% at the above £600 pcm listings this month, Either loads of people with lots of cash have decided to rent, or these people have just realised they have missed the dead cat bounce and they need to sell now....only time will tell.

This months Northampton rental figures ( NN1 + 10 miles ) are, as of 11 Sept 2009 :

above 600pcm - 525

between 500 and 600 pcm - 608

below 500 pcm - 850

total number - 1983- down 8%

Thats a big drop and matches what I see on rightmove with the sales numbers increasing !!!!

It's a buyers market again

Yess...Yess,but,what does it mean??

By the pricking of my Thumb.

Hhmmmm. Don't know

BS

If I was to hazard a guess I'd say all those scum sucking leeches that are teh BTL brigade have seen rents drop so much and prices appear to recover they are rushing for the exits. Also, the Unplanned lords have spent 12 months of hell rentingh their houses out only to see their value plummet and get wrecked and no longer wish to be landlords.

Despite ther ramping and the spring bounce, I feel sentiment has turned from the people I speak to. They all say it was a mad bubble and was unsustainable. The people with jobs are relived to be keeping them for now, the ones without are bricking it.

I'm struggling between 'OH POO. why did I leave the UK when rents are finally affordable?' and 'thank god I got my money out while its still worth anything at all'. Anyway, I can't get a job (50 apps in the last 20 days and no love at all), but its a beautiful comfortably brisk evening and I expect a sunny day tommorrow.
