Happy Days Are Here Again!

York Evening Press

The local EAs have obviously been buying some decent ad space recently...

That having been said, if it's in a picturesque location, and has all the utilities except gas, and there are no planning restrictions to at least renovating the existing structure, I'm not surprised that some banker from down south might be willing to pay that for a weekend pied-a-terre.

Edit: The thread title is neither ironic nor Freudian. I tried to append 'k' and 'grand' to the sub-headline, but the forum software won't have it. Computer thinks wishfully?

No mention of mains drains and there ARE planning restrictions.

You don't get "mains drains" in the sticks.

I would say only worth what a couple of acres with planning permission for a shed is.......fantastic south-facing views.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. It's unique, like a piece of art. You can't put a price on the quality of life a person could enjoy living there.

Not sure about quality life.

This is a shack a couple of miles behind the Falcon Inn.

I would pay for some proper planning advise before bidding for it - otherwise you can get a similar experience by just sitting in the middle of the field.

There are a scattering of these types of property in that area. It reminded my of a run-down version of the those small shed like houses at the bottom of the hill as you drive out of Cloughton.
