:( Where were Peter and Gordon?

Are they still going?

Debt is wealth. Production is poverty. Its The Right Thing To Do.

Sounds like a refrain for a song...

Manufacturing is so last century, gotta move those houses, man.

On the way home from work I was listening to the spokesperson of Magna and he said ellesmere port is safe because it is a currency hedge, ie they can move production from Europe to thier when the pound is weak. He also said he likes the Luton business model and wants to continue it.

The BBC econmics chap summed it up as "It is German govt money, so thier jobs will be safe and it seems that Vauxhall is safe as well. So that leaves the Spanish and Belgium plants to be closed then."

Time will tell but if the Spanish and Belgium plants are closed with not one job loss in Germany they there should be a big anti-competition enquiry launched by the EU sponsored by the Spanish and the Belgiums. But then I suppose that Audi will threaten to close the Seat plants.

See if i get this right:-

A failed car company get money (Via Tax) from good car companys that didn't......

Mike

Which is the failed car company and which is good car company?

As fair as I know Magna, Sverbank and the German Government are not car companies.

First Cadburys now this - Nulabour -selling out Britain ...

We should be defending Cadburys from Kraft a debt laden company who will run down the Uk operations to pay off their debt..just like the French defended Danone..we never learn

Yes but that would be protectionist and sensible.

protectionism is racist. if you support protectionism you are a racist, xenophobic, nazi who deserves to be shot.

besides we don't need these companies. we can just sell x-factor copies to the rest of the world, and after graduating in media studies everyone will be in highly skilled, well-paid jobs.

More excellent news for the economy.

I honestly think we have turned the corner and the recession is over, everyone I speak to seems to think so too.

Even said it on R1 today too; that there was good news for the economy and house prices were rising :)

Sorry to say it but there is only one way for house prices from here and that is in a vertical type motion. :)
