Jsa + Travel?

Recommended Posts

I recall something about travelling outside the UK and not being entitled to JSA for some reason or other. I've never claimed JSA , but I will probably return to the UK utterly destitute , with my close family not exactly flush with money either.

Anybody care to advise? .

My secondary task at the end of the big bike trip was to attempt to find a job in Asia but I have failed miserably, I thought hmm being a TEFL holder with experience and being a native english speaker might get me something but they only want white people in Korea/HK/Taiwan even China (the number of bars in Beijing that had signs saying no dogs and Chinese was incredible). Who'd have thunk it eh?.

If youre on holiday youre not looking for work blah blah. Id just spare myself the demeaning chit chat from the Job centres jobsworths and not mention it, just start a new claim when ur back.

If you were signing on once a fortnight, you could in theory go off for a week / 10 days and as long as you didn't tell them, they'd be none the wiser - not that I would ever recommend such a manoeuvre because that would be wrong
