Ist, they they headline the paper with 'The recession is over' which is absolutely laughable

A lot of people on this site are going to have to face the fact that the recession may well be over - it's probably not even a case of Norma Lamont's famous green shots.

My view is that the numbers are showing a trend that it's over.

However, this is a bit like saying that the patient definitely has a pulse - nothing like the same as the patient dancing out the hospital door on a pogo-stick.

Maybe we should wait until the unemployment and GDP numbers turn around before we get too excited! All this VI spin lately has little basis in major indicators, just comedy ones like sentiment in the construction/real estate sectors.
