American Friend Buys House In San Francisco

Recommended Posts

If anyone's interested:

30 yo USAF officer recently bought a 3 bed detached house in california

House was a foreclosure, previous owner payed 480k for it, this guy payed 240

Had no problem getting mortgage, 30 year fix for 4.1%(or was it 4.5 cant remember)

Sentiment: he thinks was a wise move, as is sure inflation will rip over coming years and his salary will increase accordingly.

He is overpaying so that it will be payed off in 15yrs.

That's not really consistent thinking, if he's so sure about inflation he should be paying the minimum now so inflation can do the job for him in a few years' time.
