Help With Cash Purchase

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

I'm looking for flat to buy in Slough area. I found one nice looking flat but it's for cash buyers only...

link<--

I don't know much about properties and don't really know why it's for cash buyers only ?? Is it possible that there is any legal problem or something wrong with building ?? EA said there is no Maintenance company and that's why it's for cash buyers only - don't know if I can trust EA .....

Could you help ,please .

P.S. I was thinking about making offer around 80-85K ( if there's nothing wrong with flat ).

Strewth, I'd put that at about £15k max. Our former poet laureate springs to mind.

Cash buyers only usually means it's not mortgageable. The reason for that is not specified, but it's likely to mean serious structural and/or legal issues.

Snap. There was one near me where somebody had put a railway carriage on top of a flat-roofed bungalow to give a second storey.

Unsurprisingly that was cash buyers only!

If there is no maintenance company it may mean that the someone committed a fraud or ended the agreement because of a number of defaults in payment by the owners of the flats. This means that legal documents needed by a lawyer acting for the owner may be difficult to obtain.
