Industrial Action This Week

A few strikes in the news this week, and I have to say that I feel for the workers in all three of the below situations who have had their respective agreements reneged on. We all have to face economic reality, but no excuse for companies to take the proverbial....

The bin men are on strike in Leeds. Many are having their salaries cut from £18k to £12k and it's being blamed on equal pay legislation (!)


Nobody was available to run the trains after the Sunday double time was scrapped:


Builders protesting at the use of foreign labour after the project was sold on a mandate of British jobs:

The quality of equality can go up as well as down.

Didn't some other equality ruling just mean women had to retire later rather than men retire sooner?
