well from a quick look i also saw

water tax

carbon tax

benefits tax

high earners paying more tax

of course more drink + ciggies tax

and a plan to move Ireland to a cashless society WTF!

Unveiling the 550 page report, the chairman of the Commission Frank Daly said in Dublin today that it contained over 230 recommendations which would broaden the tax base without increasing the overall tax take.

Forgive my ignorance but what, exactly, is the point of this if it doesn't increase the overall tax take? All it will do is cost money to implement.

firstly i doubt Frank is being frank, secondly, they're only anticipating the future revenue streams which will become worthwhile taxing

don't forget 150 years ago we had 'window' and 'hat' tax :blink:
