Rightmove Manipulated Data.

Recommended Posts

If you look at property snake, e.g.:

http://www.propertysnake.co.uk/site/locati...7/1/days_on_asc

Lots of houses just on the market, but then the asking price is dropped anything up to 10%.

Ive been noticing this for month.

Wouldnt this have an adverse effect on the rightmove index.

The Rightmove index only includes newly added properties. Price drops (or rises) on already listed properties are not included.

That's the point. The agent puts then on at X, drops them to Y straight away. Rightmove index averages out all the X's but they should be looking at all the Y's.

I declare the rightmove index total ********

Yes, sorry, it has that one use

I think it might eventually give us a good guide to "return to normality", when it's below the Haliwide indexes :)
