Yeah, if it wasn't for all those socialist hedgefunds, socialist bonuses, socialist CDOs, socialist Fred Goodwins...we'd be in a much better position right now.

Great. Like sacking 12,000 JCP staff and cutting 200 jobcentres wasn't stupid enough...

Bloated public sector not bloated enough shocker!

Hmm...well, I suppose it depends on how useful you think the jobcentres were. Not very if you already have a job, for example.

Depends what you mean by "socialist", you might be right unless you're left. Maybe the Master of State Gordon knows what's going on and how far he was involved.

to listen to radio 4 moneybox pundit, you'd be forgiven for thinking unemployment is a minor issue - "a lagging indicator" he said, his tone suggesting all will be well with britain shortly. he was described as an independent economist.

i guess if i am not in work i may be described as an independent worker. hey thats a new spin idea, i bet they start describing the unemployed as independent workers, in the near future.

Well it is a lagging indicator as unemployment continues to rise long after GDP goes positive. You only have to look at the graph of unemployment vs GDP in the 80's.

I think it will be very bad this time. You normally get the job losses as business struggles, this time around we will have massive cuts in the public sector as well.

Kind of makes anyone who thinks house prices have bottomed looked pretty stupid.
