Hold on, matey, Britain nor any other nice country possess weapons of mass destruction. Oh no. We and they have cute, cuddly, furry nuclear, chemical and biological arsenals.

Only nasty countries may have or are trying to develop weapons of mass destruction.

My advice to you is to read the mainstream media a bit more to enable you to distinguish what's what.

Thank you. I am suitably chastised.

£6 million a year TV presenters

Expensive Radio DJs with the IQ of Krill

Nicky Campbell

£90k a year news 24 presenters reporting the latest breaking news every hour of the day to their total audience of two viewers.

Alan Yentob

Tedious expensive period dramas that are all the same (how many adaptations of Jane Austin do you need ffs)

Graham Norton...

If you haven't already guessed, the first bovine on the chopping block imo should be the BBC!

Expel all the footballers and celebrities, thus simultaneously killing the envy culture, cutting the average person's TV costs significantly, and de-distorting the top end of the market in things like houses and cars.

so if you lose your job and have to move to find work how will you do it? pay your property gains tax on your house sale but then you have to pay the full new inflated price for your next property with your diminished funds? this will not help us have a MOBILE workforce.

Who said anything about economic policy helping us have a mobile workforce? As far as I can see the next Government elected will have to decrease spending and increase taxation in order to balance the books. There will be unpopular choices. I'm only suggesting an additional tax they may impose, after the election I think mainstream politicians may admit that runaway house price inflation isn't good for the UK in the long term and will do something to tackle it, which also happens to line the treasury's coffers and help pay back some of the debt.

This is just dogma and evidence sought for a conclusion you've already decided you want to arrive at.

All roads led to a post-industrial society.

It's rather adorable that you have such faith in political parties. The tone suggests you'd like to see the Tories wiped out, well I've no problem with that but, they might as well not have existed for the last decade for all the oppostion they provided. With the Tories out of the way what would be the timescale for delivery of the socialist utopian dream, they've had a ten year stab at it, another ten, twenty or thirty years, would that do it?

No, of course not! Not even 100 years. Instead they should take off their Tory overcoat. After all, we've had 30 years of 'capitalism everywhere' dogma, and now, because our social mores say we should look after those who haven't got any employment, are now moving into a second generation of non-workers (I refuse to call them workshy; I was unemployed for two years thanks to the tw*t Thatcher, and I know how low you can sink).

So please don't make the mistake that so many on this site do, that because they are called labour, they are Labour. They are patently not. And getting the Tories back in will change nothing.

I fail to see why 'government employment' is such a bad thing. If these people are not working, then a government funded scheme to get them into employment may be the most effective use of public money. However, because of simplistic beliefs that you must pay the going rate, therefore keep pay very low, it means that no one will want to work. The benefits to the individuals and society is massive. So using public money to get people off the dole is a brilliant idea.

After all, the opposite argument is used for consultants and executives. (If you don't pay me enough, I'll walk... Well p1ss off then.)

Get the Real Tories back in and anyone on the fringes, or on low pay, will of course be shafted. You can hear it already in the gleeful tones of Tory spokesmen -- 'I'm afraid we're going to have to cut back on government -- sorry' [hehe].

Not saying I don't like it, just that it's a bit knee-jerk and not thought out. It's the sort of thing the someone would come out with after a few pints of Stella rather than a thought out policy.

Leave the EU - sure, try to save money and reduce bureaucracy, but to leave the EU would be incredibly counter-productive to UK industry. I work in a multi-national environment and I can't see how we ever exported anything without the market harmonisation we currently have. Nations need trade.

Stop all foreign aid - Sure this could be done, but at the same time in order to be fair, we shouldn't exploit 3rd world nations by sending them our toxic waste, poach their healthcare workers, take advantage of their sweatshops etc. Also, much of the aid is tied aid, where the recipient must buy UK goods with the UK money, eg They're given 20m, but must spend it on UK tractors, thus indirectly subsidising our tractor industry.

Means test child benefit. Maybe, but what level would you stop/reduce it? How much do you think you would save? If you propose an idea, it should be costed, and the benefits highlighted. Would you aim to exclude 10% of families, or 90%? Would it be a sliding scale or a simple cut off. If a simple cut off, then those on the border line would have a reduced incentive to work, if a sliding scale, then that's what tax credits currently are.

Charge non Brits for access to NHS. Unworkable. Firstly we have reciprocal agreements with other nations. How would you deal with that? What about the millions of non British people who pay tax, but would not be eligible for healthcare. Would you give them tax breaks as the aren't eligible for the service they are paying for? What about the thousands of doctors and nurses who under these rules would not be able to get medical treatment in their own hospitals? How would you enforce mandatory health insurance for every visitor to the UK? How would you pay for it? Because there's no way on earth hospital staff would refuse to treat someone because they can't produce the correct paperwork.

Sorry to be negative, but the devil really is in the detail.

I dont drink.

Leave the EU. We dont have to give money to a superstate to trade with countries who are members. Think China, USA etc and the countries before the EU.

Stop All Foreign Aid. *We* dont exploit 3rd world countries. It is private companies that do this and we buy their products. If people dont want to do this stop buying the products. It is not upto the government to try and give them money on the side from our taxes! Lets think about India who take our money and are now developing their own space program!!!

Means test child benefit. I dont know £30k? £40K? Do people on this money need to claim it?

Charge Non Brits for NHS. Its totaly workable. In fact there was a trial about doing this a few years back, where a guy was employed in a hospital to go around and say your operation is £3000 how would you like to pay? I saw the tv program on it.]

The fact is, all these sort of things are a waste of money. We have no money! So either we can pretend and continue

to waste and waste on credit or we can stop. I think its clear which the tories will do.
