Differences In Sales Volume Figures

Recommended Posts

According to Forbes back in June

http://www.forbes.com/feeds/afx/2009/06/24/afx6580830.html

"Revenue and customs said a seasonally adjusted 60,000 properties costing more than 40,000 pounds changed hands in May, down from 64,000 in April and 88,000 in May 2008."

Yet todays LR report says there were only 42,699 sales in May 2009 , not 60,000 .

What could the difference be , anyone have any idea .

Could seasonal adjusment have increased the figure by such a huge amount ?

Seasonal adjustment? Does that mean take the figures with a pinch of salt?

Email a couple of journos with that point :)

youd have to explain "pinch of salt" as well to most Journos.
