Panda
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8226416.stm House prices in England and Wales rose by 1.7% in July compared with June - the biggest monthly leap in value since July 2004, the Land Registry said. Every region recorded a monthly rise in prices, with the average home valued at £155,885, the analysis found. But prices were still 11.7% lower in July than they were in the same month a year earlier and sales were also down. The annual drop in prices was sharpest in the North East of England but at its most shallow in Wales. interestrateripoff
House prices rise most since 2004 You should have gone with the positive headline in big bold letters just like the BBC did. The jobless recovery is here.

singlemalt
It all matters not. The BBC and media in general can talk things up but all it does is delay the inevitable: 30-40% correction on 2007 values, the market demands it. Maybe not this year, maybe not next but come it will. What amazes me is: 1 The exagerration "the biggest monthly leap..." 1.7% 2 The fact that they are welcoming the return of something that got us into the mess we're in Abosolutely unbelievable!
