And Now The Last Tv Is Made In Britain

Oh well, looks like more headed for the public sector paid with hastily thought-up money...... It's gone beyond sad into inevitable, but at least we're recovering eh?

Incidentally, there's one passage in the article that just sums up the vacuuous nature of British commentators today;

Instead of manufacturing the actual sets, Britain is now focused on making world-leading content.

Programmes such as Strictly Come Dancing, the Weakest Link, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Pop Idol were all created in Britain and have gone on to huge acclaim and massive audiences across the world.

Yes Toshiba, part of what made this country a world leading manufacturing and exporting country.

Plymouth was their European manufacturing HQ, turning out everything from air conditioning and marine pumps to television and related goods. If a European product had the Tosh label on it, good chance it was made in Plymouth.

Bad news continuing for Plymouth Manufacturing Sector. :(

Edited because i hashed up quoting non frog the previous poster.

Maybe we should setup a bespoke niche, retro TV business using regunned cathode ray tubes for telly connoisseurs. Wood cabinets and folding doors and all that :lol:

Brown has introduced, he thinks, a new paradigm. We don't not need to produce anything other than more debt. With the big push to get banks lending again it follows that people must borrow again. Debt is the new product to keep Britain afloat. If only Brown can re-introduce HPI we can duplicate again what we have just done in the past decade!
