Now that is a good question. Blackjacks just edge it for me. They had the added benefit of turning your mouth and spittal black.

Should you ever have a sherbert fountain again, take the stick of spanish out, put your lips around the packet and take a fast deep breathe. It's great fun when someone is stood in front of you. Wario
On the plus side we've now got lots of curry to eat, drugs to smoke and dubstep/grime/r&b to listen to Damn! Are you sure? Round here it was always lots of curry to wear, grime to smoke, and drugs to listen to. Then again, I don't remember the '60s.

juvenal
Apparently, if you want a trip down memory lane, feed your dog bone meal then leave the poo for a very long time. There are 660,000 results for 'white dog poop' on Google. It was much in demand in Victorian England by the leather tanning industry, and London had a legion of dogs muck collectors looking for it. One of the more unusual callings.

twatmangle
TiswasTest card transmissions Watches with built in calculators War comics Crab paste in small jars The Four Minute Warning I miss the testcard. As a kid, I remember it meant 'you are up too early' or 'this the BBC, we don't have any tv until about lunchtime, then it will only be for an hour or so' Did you know the testcard X on the noughts and crosses board is the dead centre of the image? It's to line up the vertical and horizontal holds on your set.
General Melchett
Endless summers as a kid, roaming around with nothing to do and all day to do it. My elderly cats - never be kittens again. My waistline. School dinners, comprising roast pork, roast poataoes, in season veg and gravy so thick you could stand your fork up in it. Then something even stodgier (with custard) for afters. Are we all old geezers on this thread?

Was just reading a story on El Reg this morning, and someone posted the following: BBC Test Card By Angus Ireland Posted Friday 21st August 2009 19:28 GMT For those with freeview (which has no HD services but never mind): 1) Goto channel 105 and wait for the screen to load. Press yellow 2) Tune out and back in to 105. Now press Green ("Secret" appears in the top right before the Status Page appears) 3) Now press green again for Test Card W :-) El Reg It works too

Prescience
hi prescience, check out this young band. guitarist is only eighteen but can really play http://www.myspace.com/wildmessiah1 Thanks. Too contrived and for my taste, far too much fuzz overlaid with pure overdrive (Distortion). Now the following is guitar experitise! There are many axe players on this site and most would agree that Kopfler's finger style is very hard to achieve. Competently. Hard to realise that the original piece is now some 30 years old............
Frank Hovis
wtf are pacer mints? My grandparents wearing suit & best dress for a trip to the beach. It was just such a lovely era. Contemporary stamps being worth collecting. Valuing and keeping things, rather than always looking for something marginally better to buy.
