Oh look another pig ignorant American. The Nazis were no more socialist than the 'federal reserve' is a federal bank. I love how declaring himself a marine veteran is supposed to excuse his venal populism and sheer bloody ignorance.

Absolutely. What hope for the hopeless dupes of the USA?

Loving this comment...

That would never happen here in the UK.

Our politicians pretty much have free reign to push whatever bizarre, loony, extreme-left policies they wish.

If we revolt I'll make sure to bring back the noose.

That was a blatant rip-off of a Simpsons episode. Can't remember what happened, but Homer made the same speech. Except he didn't claim to be a marine.

The USA is still a teenager and has a lot of growing up still to do. The scariest thing is that it's a teenager with a very big gun.

Too many sycophants with trust in the state for things to change here. Too many people with a vested interest and career in fields useful for manipulating the people by the government. Even this off topic has a fair few resident shills.

Why do Americans think the world will end if people can get healthcare?

What is Nazi about healthcare?

It's a sick country (in more than one way).

It's called eugenics, dopey. Do a bit of research on a book called Ecoscience by John Holdren.

The horrible and real truth is that American health care is the best in the world but it is organised differently to yours. Most everyone has health care insurance and they get much better care than you (or I) do. Poor people get treated anyway and they have no problems either but there is a group that is not poor but cannot afford health care insurance. They are treated, no-one is ever turned away, (it is against the law to do that) but they are sent a bill and those are the stories you hear in the socialist press. A serious illness or accident can bankrupt a family. Most Americans are afraid of socialist medicine because they see your system (and mine) with all its delays and restrictions as inferior and they see your system as spreading the misery. People (including Canadians) go to America for specialised or speedy treatment. They are afraid of losing what they have (which is the best) in order to accommodate poorer people. The American health care system is under threat anyway because of treating the poor for free which includes illegal aliens and so they see Obama's socialist ideas as just another threat. BTW big business loves the idea of socialised medicine. It takes away their employee health care costs.

I cannot understand why some on this forum condemn or make fun of the protestor. He is not well educated, he does not have a gilded tongue, he does not have honeyied words, yes he may have borrowed his speech from Homer Simpson. But, he is up against a professional smoothie politician who normally could run rings around him, but he is also angry and effectively makes his voice heard.

Just because he is opposed to socialised medicine does not make him wrong. Do not make ad hominem attacks just because you do not like his views. I am afraid that in the UK, the very idea of democracy and majority rule is DEAD.

He has the absolute right to make his point, no-one is required to agree with him (Only applies in the USA, not for UK consumption)

Mike

could start go get very interesting across the pond.

guns+ammo sales have gone through the roof, and most of the military won't back up obama.

Parking the regular GI's in some rat-infested hell hole while foreign troops come in and do the dirty work on domestic soil seems to have been rumbled.

Gerald celente has nailed it.

The only stories I've heard of people going to America for medical care, this side of the year 2000, is for boob jobs and hair transplants.

And this is where the logic falls down.

If everyone in America (rich, poor or in between) is already getting the best healthcare in the world, why would giving poor people what they already have make the slightest bit of difference to anyone?

I argue loudly and strongly for the NHS. But of course I realise it's weaknesses. If I don't want to rely on it I don't have to; I can pay for private insurance for specialised or speedy treatment. And poor people being accommodated in the NHS and being able to see doctors doesn't stop me paying for BUPA if I want to.

I open open to being convinced otherwise, but I have never seen a coherent argument against the NHS.

This guy's argument is something along the lines of "Nazis got out bed in the morning and breathed, and the people who are proposing access to healthcare get up in the morning and breath too, therefore the people proposing access to healthcare are Nazis." It's a [word meaning not good] argument.

I am not saying that he is right. Just that he has his view and is entitled to say it out loud. It would seem that quite a lot of Americans agree with him.

I think that the NHS is very good indeed. When my Wife was dying, ditto my Sister and Father, the care was of the best. When its not an emergency, you wait. that is the way it is, it could be improved but at what cost?

The point that I make is that just because we hapen to like the NHS does not give us any right whatsoever to suggest that it be imposed upon a foreign country, many of whose people are opposed to it.

Let people have the right of self determination.

Accept that unless you are American, its absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with you.

(Also get out of Iraq and Afghanistan)

 except the small matter of 47 million americans that do not have health insurance.

Poor people get treated anyway and they have no problems either but there is a group that is not poor but cannot afford health care insurance.

yes they have to go to A+E departments and do a great job of clogging up what should be strictly an emergency care service.

A serious illness or accident can bankrupt a family.

Well I'm sold; that sounds like a great system; wish we had some of that here..........
