New 'fat Seats' Appear On Underground

Recommended Posts

We all know what it's like to have a fat person squeezing themselves into a small seat next to us on public transport.

Well, now special chairs have been installed on trains to cope with rising obesity rates.

For some reason fat people are choosing not to use the 'fat seats'

Anyone know where this is?

If they can squeeze into a thin seat does that mean they are not fat? Or is the above really a double seat for loving couples?

The blue-coloured seats are nearly twice as wide as normal chairs and can support even the bulkiest passenger up to 550lbs without breaking. But baffled underground bosses in Sao Paulo, Brazil say they're being ignored by obese passengers, who they think are to ashamed to use them. A sign above each seat shows a cartoon of a roly-poly passenger saying "Priority chair for obese people." "It may be that they don't want to think of themselves as fat or they resent being put in with pensioners and the disabled," said one manager.

This is silly they should have used a more effective way , ie instead of enclosed seat type things just had benches , or the hong kong way would have been to completely remove the seats, problem solved.

I think that station must get a higher than average amount of Americans using it.
