Why Are The Fundamentals Not Being Resolved?

Recommended Posts

<TFH On>

Is it just me or are others here growing increasingly bemused and frustrated at the seeming reluctance of the those in power to bite the damn bullet and sort this mess out.

Most of the fundamental causes of the financial crisis are still prevalent and getting worse. Various countries have emerged from their respective recessions only because of the huge stimulus packages, low I.R's and general tinkering at the margins. Like so many have said here, it's just illusory.

So what the hell are they waiting for? Why just juggle more and more balls when it is obvious that the at some point in the future this whole debacle is going to derail big style? Why is nothing sustainable being done?

sustainable

Adjective

1. capable of being sustained

2. (of economic development or energy sources) capable of being maintained at a steady level without exhausting natural resources or causing ecological damage: sustainable development.

Surely the question of whether or not a commodity ie. oil, food, water or an economic system is sustainable is only relevant if consumption remains stable or increases.

I know, it's crazy, unthinkable, lala land, TFH nutter but maybe, just maybe, the reason that very few of the medium or long term challenges facing humanity are not being decisively tackled is because they don't need to be.

Perhaps, they are merely doing exactly what needs to be done - killing time. Keep it simple, nothing fancy just maintain the status quo.

How long do you think (with increasingly massive stimulus, bailouts etc and globally compliant governments ie. nobody rocks the boat) that relative normality could be portrayed to the masses?

<TFH Off>

Or maybe, they are spinning plates because they don't really know what the hell to do for the best or waiting for G.E etc.
