Visitng Carnaval Del Pueblo Dancers Shot

Recommended Posts

Three members of a visiting dance troup are shot and robbed in London. A pretty shocking story highlighting the depths of violence and lawlessness many areas of our country have fallen to. However, it hasn't been reported except by a couple of South London media organisations. Why is this? We are in the depths of the silly season news drought with papers scraping the barrel for stories, and here is front page news material, yet its almost as if it has been... suppressed.... filtered... censored. Why could that be? Not just that, but it appears to be a racist attack as well. Whenever that is the case, the media are all over the story like a rash, but strangely not this time. What could the explanation be? What kind of "filter" is applied to incidents that warrant they get national coverage, and what propels them to the big time on the main TV news shows?

Carnaval del Pueblo dancers shot

THREE Bolivian dancers at rehearsals for a big Latin American Festival have been shot.

The men, who were due to perform at Carnaval del Pueblo, were shot in separate incidents in and around Burgess Park in Walworth at about 8pm on Saturday.

The first victim, thought to be in his 40s, was shot in the foot near the lake in Burgess Park.

A 29-year-old man was shot in the stomach on Cobourg Road, Camberwell, and a 34-year-old man was shot in the groin in the park.

Police believe the victims were also robbed.

Police said the same suspects could be responsible for all three attacks – and for the robbery of two further men, neither of whom were injured.

A Met spokesman said: “Carnaval del Pueblo, Southwark Council and the police met on Sunday morning to discuss the event and it was agreed that carnival would go ahead as planned.â€

At noon the next day thousands of revellers flocked to Burgess Park for Europe’s largest Latino carnival.

The men were rehearsing dance moves that would have been performed on the Andean stage at the carnival.

The stage was supposed to be near Burgess Park’s lake, but after the shootings police cordoned the area off.

The Andean stage was moved to the centre of the park, near the other stages.

Isaac Bigio, who helped organise the Andean stage, said: “The men were practising during the night when the incident happened.

“We think it was a racist attack because the men were shouting racist slogans.

“It was very sad what happened but it didn’t affect the carnival day itself.â€

No one has been arrested in relation to the incidents.

Police are looking for two men, one of whom was in possession of a handgun.

All three victims are in a stable condition at a South London hospital.

Detectives from Trident are investigating.

"Detectives from Trident are investigating."

If this had been a racist attack by white thugs which resulted in three cases of attempted murder one would expect the fact that they were white to be mentioned. Why so coy about racist attacks by black criminals? Or is it racist to even mention that black people can be racist too?

That is blindingly obvious, the remarkable thing about this case is it is not considered newsworthy... 3 members of a visiting cultural group are shot while rehearsing for their show! So what are the controlled-media saying by not reporting it? This is not newsworthy because it is so commonplace? Another day, another shooting, hardly worth mentioning? Racist violence, well, there you go, they were all probably just a bit excited, you know what these urban inner city types are like?. Either a story like this is supressed because it goes against the ideas the controlled media want us to have, or we have come to the point where violent and/or racist gun crime is so out of control it is no longer newsworthy. Which of the two possibilities is the more plausible?

These "racists" shot 3 men from the same group who were in different places at the time of the attacks. Yeah, that's just the MO for a racist attack.

The poster who mentioned cocaine is probably a lot closer to the truth (Bolivia is a major producer of coca). And the press don't care about drug killings, it happens all the time.

Unless they in some way "disrespected" some local youths who then followed them around to get their "own back"?

Like recently when this woman told some kids to stop talking and making a noise in a cinema and they followed them to a cafe afterwards and chucked bleach over the woman.

Guess if at least some of the people who did that were not white!
