Anti Gay Prejudice Still Rife

Recommended Posts

Well, in most parts of the world, people are still not open minded when it comes to a person who is gay.

I understand that, but why?

Christ, I hope my son grows up to be like Graham Norton.

What do you mean by that ? (I am genuinely interested)

We still have work to do.......

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8202485.stm

Why do some people still think that ones sexuality matters?

http://www.stonewall.org.uk/

It doesn't but why do gays have to tell everyone they are gay? Why march down the street with pride saying I have sex with men. Why don't you keep it private and show some dignity? A sexual preference doesn't have to define a person or mean one has to advertize the fact. Employers are scared about this, it only matters if you advertize the fact.

Its a lifestyle not a minority.

What some people do wonder about is the active promotion of homosexuality.

I see. So has advertising and a general vibe of permissiveness given you the sudden urge to take it up the shitter lately?

No what I am saying is that the homosexual model does not fit heterosexuals in fact they are in competition.

So will we have a heterosexual society that tolerates a say 5% gay minority?

Or, will it be a homosexual society that persecutes a say 95% straight majority?

I don't understand, how are they in competition?

How and why would a "homosexual society" (whatever that is) 'persecute' a straight majority?

I don't see how men liking men or women liking women sets the scene for a reign of terror.

What is it that scares you?

It's none of my business who someone else goes to bed with. I have no gay friends, but that's not through choice. Each to their own - it's of no consequence to me.

I have one question about the male gay community that I just do not understand. Why does being gay mean that one devlops a girly voice and in some cases start to overact like a diva? Surely, just because one has a same sex attraction does not mean that one's voice will morph into something laughably iffemminate. Is it just a voice that is put on within the gay community or does the voice really change? I do not get it. By all means be with another man, but why can't a gay man still speak like one?

I know there will be exceptions, but it is definitely the norm.

As you say it doesn't matter if you are gay. What some people do wonder about is the active promotion of homosexuality. This is known as PC or Social Engineering and is conducted by the elite similar to how they promote socialism, environmentalism, communism and feminism all with the one common objective of breaking down the family unit, society, the nation and sovereignty..

Marriage and family are a major building block in society as we know it. Some seek to break this down.

I have wondered this about people who constantly bang on about it, going out of their way to show that 'they aren't anti-gay', by making it a focus of so many topics. I always think it is a case of " Methinks they do protest too much" and that they ARE anti-gay.

Freud would call it Reaction Formation. B)

I went to Uni for TWO years with a guy who was gay. He did not tell me, I did not ask, he did not seek to make is glaringly apparent like Julian Clary did -who I suspect did it to get into TV.

We all only found out when he did a presentation about gay issues - for his dissertation.

He never wanted anyone to make a deal of it, and we never did. To me he was just a chap I met on my Masters. Pleasant friendly. I never told him about my sex life - why would I think anyone else is interested? It is mine. He never told me about his.

We got along fine. :D

Marriage and family are the essential building blocks of our society. Family ensures that each new generation is propely nurtured and prepared for life. WE receive values, purpose, identity and love from our famly roles. Creating and raising a child is how we project into the future and it is practiced and tested every day. This gives us meaning and love normally through marriage and parenthood.

PC or social engineering has the potentail to destroy these sources of happiness and health, personaly and in society.

That doesn't even remotely answer any of my questions.

It isn't the norm, you just think it is because it is the most visible aspect of the "gay community".

Which in itself is hardly the be all and end all.

Tough luck as you were the one that introduced fear and terrorism I dont care to go there with you.

What did you mean by persecute then, for the second time.

And I don't believe I mentioned terrorism either.

Actually you "don't care to go there" because you don't have an argument and you know it.

I know gays who are NOT obvious. A friend of my daughters is gay and a 'regular' guy. His partner is a bit camp, like Kenny Williams, but he does not have an effeminate voice normally, only when he gets agitated or upset.

No, I just find this sort of non-argument irritating. Why can't people say what they mean?

If he find men's dicks in other men's bums disgusting to the point he'd rather people were actively put off doing it in private even if they want to, fair enough, thats his view. Again if he believed, which he doesn't, that people can be "turned" then that would be a point of view as well and can be agreed or disagreed with on its merits. Its the vague handwaving that doesn't actually contain a point to it I object to.

Exactly how are gay people competing with straight people?

Given that most gay men I have seen tend to be fit , buffed, well muscled, and well dressed, I'm quite happy that they are NOT competing with me, fat, smelly, shabby, drunken sot that I am.

I might be making a generalisation here, but perhaps I can re-write your comment:

Well, in most parts of the Islamic world, people are still not open minded when it comes to a person who is gay.

There we go, that's better. ;)

It's not a problem. It doesn't bother me in the slightest. I just want to know why it happens.

But it is the norm, in my opinion. More gay men speak with a girly twang than don't.
