_w_ Posted August 14, 2009 Share Posted August 14, 2009 The global economy is absolutely fuc*ed - if it was allowed to play out normally we would have had the biggest deflationary collapse (asset bubble burst - whatever you want to call it ) - I agree, but we are now riding on a mega wave of deluded, media and VI driven optimism. Also, as far as the UK goes, the steps taken by Gordon have hidden the damage to a great extent, if only for a while. So the dismal economic data we get is being drowned out by the greenshoots spin. We have to wait until the weigh of reality becomes too big to ignore / spin. It's then that the governement is likely to do something stupid, as far as the UK goes we've spent all our bullets. Strange times indeed, everytime they delay the inevitable, they make it worse. God knows how bad we are going to end up when all this is over.
