Daniel Hannan Gobbing Off Again - As He Lines His Pcokets In Brussels

Recommended Posts

In an interview with Fox's Sean Hannity, Mr Hannan said: "I wouldn't wish it on anybody. We have a system where the most salient facts of it you get huge waiting lists, you have bad survival rates and you would much rather fall ill in the US.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now i know quite a few people whom owe there life to the NHS and i rate it highly, even Stephen hawkins does, although our dumb ass cousins in America seem to think that Mr. hawkins would be dead if he had been treated by the NHS and lived in the UK (although he does).

SO Mr. hannon Gobs off on Fox as he will never need the NHS as he retires from the Brussels Millionaire gravy train - would someone please stamp on this toffs head!

Was at same university as Hannan, but thankfully never physically contacted the idiot. His reactionary and adolescent rants were always in the student papers- he's a publicity freak; and an absolute tw@t.

His 'Youtube' speech was good though, although it's my shame to admit it.

Leaving aside the NHS issue for a sec cos that's a huge issue in its own right, I have mixed feelings about Dan Hannan.

Are his libertarian leanings genuine? Hmmmm. The Jury is out on that one for me.

He's a good orator. The tongue lashing he gave Broon was hugely entertaining.

If he is truly libertarian, his life in the Tory party will be short lived, particularly under a closet socialist like David Cameron. I suspect he'll end up 'toning it down' because that big fat pay cheque he's getting from the EU taxpayer is just too much of a good thing for any aspiring politician to resist. That's the whole idea of paying them such outrageous sums of money isn't it? It's almost bribery. "Here, have this huge salary, claim your daily 300 Euro expenses and shut the fekk up!"

He is a publicity whore and he is doing it to line his own pockets.

He has been getting bookings on the Fox news shows (including the appalling Glenn Beck) off the back of his comments.

Who is Glenn Beck? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvN5IPLGs9c

As with many of our politicians (both sides of the aisle) he really wishes he wasn't a Tory at all, but rather a Republican.

I've noticed its been a while since he has hectored us that we'd better off if we could be like Iceland, the ultimate proof of the success of Thatcherite reform.

This is the MEP who advocates transparency and open government while not letting people read his thoughts on how to renew Britain unless they pay £5 to download a PDF.

'Tory poster-boy Dan Hannan MEP voted to cover-up Europarliament expenses scandal':

http://richardwilsonauthor.wordpress.com/2...penses-scandal/

Tory MEP Dan Hannan (representing Southeast England) has become something of a media poster-boy for honest government in recent months. So it was a surprise to discover that he was among the 47 British MEPs who voted, earlier this year, to cover up details of MEPs expense claims.

Personally I think there are good things about the NHS, but there are also some really really bad things, and private in the UK isnt any better. If you have good medical insurance it would be better to fall ill in the USA. Daniel has a post in the telegraph about what he wants to do with the NHS; convert it into a Singapore-style system:

He's never had a proper job neither; always been some sort of political researcher I believe, before becoming an MEP, therefore will not take him seriously.

It's a shame that many on this site laud Daniel Hannan for the sole reason he once made some cogent - but quite frankly obvious - remarks about the economy and El Gordo's premiershit. Hannan's infamous You-Tubed rant reminded me of a young William Hague spouting off at the Tory conference all those years ago. Embarrassing, in a nutshell.

The worrying fact is, Hannan may cost the Tories the next election. The result: another five years of hard ZanuLabour. If Hannan cannot see that his comments, even if they do have some legitimacy, may help give Labour another term, then he really is a muppet.

Personally I cringe whenever I see Hannan's sh1t-eating Mekon-like head spouting its nonsense.

The man's an idiot.

Hannan's most famous rant was plagiarism. The line was said more eloquently by John Smith about John Major's Conservative government after their ejection from ERM.

"In September 1992, he [John Smith] made his maiden speech as party leader, about the Government's ERM debacle eight days earlier, saying that John Major was "The devalued Prime Minister of a devalued Government". At the party conference he referred to Major and Norman Lamont as being the Laurel and Hardy of British politics.

Stealing other people's speeches is not much of a political high really. Why anyone on this site rate's Hannan is a mystery to me. Vince Cable is at least correct in his diagnosis - Hannan (a careerist Eurocrat) can't even get that correct.
