Repossessed Property Buying: Up to 30% off market values. Inc. top sites, auctions & hidden tricks. New briefing

Repossessed or distressed properties can be 30% cheaper than market values, though research and renovations are usually needed. Many've asked how to do it, so this is our provisional quick briefing on where to source bargains inc. specialist search sites, auction houses, middlemen & more. Profiting from others' misery? It's not black and white; when someone's repossessed the debt isn't cleared, they still can owe any shortfall after the property's sold, so more buyers pushing up prices often helps. FULL info in the new Quick Briefing: Buying Repossessions

Unless you're the mug paying more ....

It pissed me off when I got the email and it says "It’s possible to pick up repossessed or distressed sale properties at up to 30% off the market price."

The sale price IS the market price!!!!!!

As if your buying at a discount, it's not, you are the market and dictate it's bl00dy value!!!!!

I've had something similar through the post today - 'Distressed Property Deals Uncovered' - with 'free events' at various hotels in the SE.

'Tried and tested secrets' of making huge money, "£57,450 INSTANT equity, No Money down", , "These secrets aren't for everyone. they're only for those people who are astute enough to realize the small window of opportunity we're facing RIGHT NOW." Limited Seating So Act FAST.

Next set of mugs to the slaughter...

But the market price is whatever idiot price we hit at peak in 2007 (or whenever) if you pay even a penny less than this youare getting a bargain - even if it is £200K for a shoebox.

(oh I should add I am joking)

The amazing thing of course is that this sort of thing worked on the way up and its still pulling the punters in on the way down.... I suppose its secret is that it promises to reveal THE secret...... sadly for most if not all they'll either be paying for something of no value or starting on the road to serious problems...... I wouldn't say that if you really know what you are doing its impossible to make money at property in the current situation but its certainly not for anyone who needs to go on a course to learn it.

Exactly.

Should have added that the flyer has lots of lovely colour photos - of a huge white yacht in a sunny, azure sea, a beautiful couple sitting on a pristine white-sand beach, a bloke in a shiny red sports car... All of which YOU TOO will soon be enjoying if you sign up FAST to one of our free events! (Not that it actually says that.)

Reminds me of the end of Freefall (BBC 2 recently) in which, by the end, the slimy little spiv flogging dodgy mortgages had moved on to flogging eco products, solar panels etc. The buy-to-let sharks have simply moved on to the Next Big Mug Thing.

And no doubt they'll make shedloads of money :(

I was sometimes tempted to go along to one of the BTL seminars, just to see what sort of people turned up, and exactly what persuasive sales techniques they used.

Also tempted to observe one of these but they're all on days when I'm working.
