Way too small a quake to cause a Tsunami.

Needs to be whats called a mega thrust quake, 8+. Remember Richter scale is logarithmic to the base 10 so 8.9 is 10 times more powerful than 7.9.

Well I hope it ain't another big one.

That was before MMGW. Now the sea is warmer and the air is hotter which means the wave pickes up more energy at the outset so needs less omph from the earth.

Or at least this is what we will be told by Millband tomorrow when he explains it is all our fault for farting too much.

Pattaya is east coast Thailand so should be safe.

I was on an island 1m above sea level when the last one struck. Thankfully it was on the east coast.

It's times like this you have to be seriously impressed with the internet.

Minutes after an earthquake hits the otherside of the planet, we are pulling together multiple sources of information and discussing it with a bloke sitting in Thailand.

Sweet.

Sweet.

And if we really wanted - we could bring up live internet chat with a Thai Ladyboy to discuss it further. The wonders of technology.

This has to be the end of days . . . again.

Good to hear.

I hope that there are no other complications for you.

I fear that times like these raise the possibility of unintended consequences.
