Think Tank Recommends Changes To The Names Of The Seasons.

Recommended Posts

After a study lasting 15 months the Policy Institute for Social Sciences has recommended that the names of autumn & winter should be changed to help the country through the recession & boost the housing market.

One of their spokesmen, Luke Quente, said they first studied the changes in car buying habits way back to 1963 when the number plate changes were first introduced & the subsequent changes to that system to help stimulate the market.

As a result spring & summer look like being retained, but autumn will become 'late summer' & winter will be 'early spring'.

Some of the early name proposals have been dropped. 'Brown summer' & 'Darling spring', although honouring the two that saved Britain from financial calamity, were thought too open to ridicule from those less understanding of the country's temporary predicament.

It is thought the govt. are keen to adopt the changes after the national association of estate agents & the council of mortgage lenders gave their approval just before parliament went into recess.

The Kondratieff Early Spring doesn't have the same ring to it.

These double-speakers know their stuff.

The "Early Spring of Discontent" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Put that in context and it does actually work. It's only there as a contrast to made glorious summer ...
