Dont Believe The Tripe...

I keep an eye on property snake for Northamptonshire.

The number of reported pages of drops for that area has hovered around 10 pages for months....I think it got as high as 28 pages of drops one week.

So, today, with great surprise and glee I had a look:

It's back to 50 full pages of drops !!!!!!!!

I've not see that since the start of the year.

I think we're off and kicking again....timberrrrrrrrrr

House prices in Northampton do appear to be in free fall. Who would have thought that Northampton had "Villa's!"

Looking at these falls in just "my manor."

I looked at a few London postcodes I know well.

Unsurprisingly, 2 things stand out:

1) the proportion of properties on the market for more than 6 months is at least 30%, probably more (if a property is removed and relisted a few weeks later, I assume the clock restarts)

2) overwhelmingly, the properties there for more than 6 months have been reduced by less than 10% of original asking price. Still a lack of realism and/or no urgency to sell.

Similar story to me in N Surrey/London borders.

Same old tripe is still there, overpriced and overlooked. A few are having a few k knocked off and still not moving.

It's the ~£250k houses that are moving. And many of them are returning to the market after a no sale. Some of the new stuff coming to the market is so ridiculously overpriced that I feel like knockking on the door, pointing and laughing at the owners.
