Property Propoganda On Coronation Street

Recommended Posts

Is anyone watching Corrie this evening? There is some blatant property ramping going on.

Basically... "we have to buy now why prices are low, or be priced out forever"

Maybe one of the script writers has his place on the market.

But it is 'brain of britain' prospect Jason saying this.... so hardly going to influence the naiton.

You have a higher opinion of the average Britain than I do.

Yes I am watching my fave soap.

Eileen was very bearish about him buying it though.

I think they may be building Jason up for a fall, in his property dealing here, especially as the storyline has told us he has had to borrow the deposit.

hope so anyway...

I get the impression the writers are setting them up for a fall. After all, it would be much more interesting for them to get up the creek in debt (got a loan for the deposit too  ) than make a profit and live happily ever after.

they might - pragmatically - follow the actual afate of the housing market, so he could be a property magnate in a year's time, or bust in far less...

I think they are promoting the bank of mum and dad. This is the road they are going down with the new special mortgages for parents who want to help the kiddie winks out!

Eileen is chipping in on the purchase. (sorry am I turning this into a soap forum)

As things never go right for Eileen on this soap, hopefully that means this house purchase is set for doomdom, and Eileen will lose her money from it.

I hope we will not be getting any property ramping from this storyline.

This will come to a sticky end..they got a Liar Loan for the deposit!(Jason got Bill to say he was a full-time employee, whereas Jason is actually self-employed)No doubt Platt Junior will wreck the flat, too.(Oh,and they want to do the flat up and resell it. )

I remember when East Enders first came out in the 80s at a time when manufacturing was being decimated in favor of a service economy. Everyone in the show, who worked, was part of the service economy, pub, cafe, taxi, market stall, launderette, chef, cleaner etc... Hardly any of them actually produced anything of value for the economy, at least, anything that you could put on a ship and export.

I thought the very same thing whilst watching it. The whole thing is, hopefully, aimed at showing how stupid people can be when it comes to buying property.

Hy go easy on the Corrie spoilers. We are a year behind with the series in Australia, and just up to the episode where Steve Mcdonald has been turfed out of his own pub by Michelle, for playing away from home with Becky. Rosie is getting on very well at the factory assiting the one eyed scottish git to screw here father's auto repair business, so the seeds of her ability to buy the posh car must be being sown at this stage.

There's no connection between the above and Rosie's car purchasing ability...fabulous car, though, and under £34K. The car is one of these..

I wondered that too, here it is http://www.lifestyleautomotive.co.uk/

I think they are based on the 50's Spyder that James Dean killed himself in.If Tina's father is anything to go by it will all go sh*tside.Beeny Baby "You bought in WEATHERFIELD? You need above the 15k ceiling price to break even." Think she might get a bit more back on the game than Leanne though.
