and who was saying ealrier that 200K mortgages were not the norm.

heres a penniless teacher with a £270K mortgage....but she has got £20K profit.

Interessting.. and there in one case you have just about everything thats wrong with the market.... the buyer... no financial knowledge but still knows they cannot afford to buy... but unbelievably walks into the development anyway and opens discussions.

The builder who builds these things, claims they are worth far more than they are and then enters into all sorts of fun and games with discounts which are not real.

etc etc..... whilst I know some people just were not aware how shocking a purchase most new builds are, it still amazes me how many consider buying when they know they can't afford... why bother expending the energy..... there are so many people who are just going to have to get used to the idea that they are never going to be able to afford to buy even if house prices do drop a considerable degree further... owning a house isn't a right after all.
