Charterhouse
This has been advertised in the FT lately. Basically it's a long term timeshare investment in a variety of super luxury villas across Europe and the rest of the world. http://www.thehideawaysclub.com/ So I did a bit more research. For £120,000 you get roughly a 1% stake, and entitlement to up to about 5 weeks a year at one of these properties, that generally accomodate 10-15 people depending on exact details. Then you also owe around £7,000 a year in maintenance fees. To me, unless I was literally going to take 5 mates and their partners away 3-4 times a year, I simply don't see how the sums add up. The £7,000 a year alone is enough for 1-2 really amazing holidays a year, and the club doesn't even cover your flights. Nice idea, sums don't add up. I think there could be a market for something similar though.
