Monopoly Busting - Eu Style

Recommended Posts

The EU is definitely content on chasing Microsoft over the whole browser tie in to the OS issue, and whilst it is clear MS does have a dominant position - to be honest I would say Windows is now on its last legs. After the total abomination that was Vista, Windows 7 is basically a cut down version and most Windows features stopped being useful sometime between Windows 2000 and XP. In reality I now find it preferable to use Linux, and certainly I'd be happy to put Ubuntu or Linpus Linux Lite on my grandmother's PC.

As I see it, the key thing going forward will be web services and all you need for that is Firefox on a decent Linux distro.

What do others think?

On the banking thing I think this is a far more damaging oligopoly/cartel than anything Microsoft can do today. The EU should be investigating GS rather than MS.
