Politics Subforum

Recommended Posts

Don't really agree with subforums (except for Trolls). They don't work. They split the discussion and very few people use them. There are plenty of debates here so just pick your poison!

While a call for a politics sub forum no doubt has noble intentions, I fear it will become very quickly a vessel for the expression of even worse extremism than we currently get in the main forum. It will attract yet another wave of fascists, crypto racists, BNP fans and flotsam and jetsam all vying for a podium place in the bigot of the week prize. Maybe this won't be so, and perhaps worth trying as an experiment, but I fear the worst.

At least they'd all be one place, a place that could safely be ignored.

The political dimension to the economy and the impact of policies on the things that interest us here make it valid to have 'politics' on the main forum.

The governance of the country is important economically. Anger, debate, ridicule, argument would be lost elsewhere.

These are very interesting times, we are witnessing a politically driven economic meltdown.

BTW - the only two topic areas I visit are 'House prices and the economy' and 'Off-topic' with an eye on the home page - which seems to have its own crowd.
