Forest Of Dean

Recommended Posts

I'm going out on a limb here, and just for a bit of fun, (although I'm very interested) I want to find out what the score with this is.

i go to the forest a fair bit, to walk and camp and generally get lost. peoples perception of the place is strange, it seems to be one of fear. Ive heard the stories of panthers, wild boar, white deer and other things that only make me more interested in the place. But theres a girl who works with my brother, and she was born in the forest, others have said not to mention this particular story near her. but we don't know what the story is.

Its apparently the sort of story that if you walked in to a pub in the forest and mentioned one word about it, the whole place would fall silent, and you would be in grave danger. Can anyone shed any light on what this could possibly be, i have a feeling it involves a group of locals.

No wind up, I'm genuinely interested.

There are genuinely boar in the forest. (My cousin lives there). They have been shot on a number of occasions - I think they were released from captivity or something.

What you must not tell (on pain of death) is the bit about the elf-fvcking ceremony. God forbid that outsiders knew where the elves were (they fetch 40 quid a kilo in Ruspidge) never mind the fact they get rooted before they are cut up.

(PS Missus says read Winifred Folley's books to get the real low down - "Child in the Forest")

There are

Mrs MV works there.

I'd point out though that the Forest isn't actually in Wales though :)

House prices are significantly higher this side of the Wye...

It will be about the Circus Bear. Best not to mention it. Nor the underage sex, incest, inbreeding and sheep shagging either come to think of it.

The wild boar are real enough. You can see where they dig up the grass verges. Best not to mention them since they shot one in a school playground.

Don't make the mistake of calling the locals Welsh. They are in Gloucestershire.

Don't discuss the toll on the Severn Bridge.

Don't discuss 4x4s and say they are for posers.

Oh, don't mention house prices to the locals.

Thats intersting as the lasy wild boar in England was supposedly kileed by Roger de Ferry in Ferryhill Co. Durham.
