Mps Building Property Portfolios On Expenses

Recommended Posts

MPs have been caught at it, profiting from houses with mortgages paid for with expenses, buying run down properties and claiming expenses to do them then either selling them without paying capital gains tax, by flipping, or simply then buying an additional property and claiming expenses to do that up. MPs get to keep all the profit made from these expense funded houses.

Is this affecting the government's subconscious thinking, making it introduce policies that will prop up house prices?

What policies and measures are they taking to prop up house prices?

Ones I can initailly think of are:

P

  • ayment the interest on someone's mortgage who is out of work up to the value of £170k.
  • Forcing banks and building societies to lend more money for mortgages.
  • Lowering interest rates to 0.5%
  • Abandoning the policy of raising interest rates with inflation.

I'm sure there are many more.

Correct observation - this has been noted many times over the last few years on this forum. The politicos have been in on the act and drawing money from a bubble they helped to create.

Sense had left the building, but only if you look at it from the health of the nation - when looked at from the perspective of the greedy banker or politician then it all made perfect sense.

The real damage done by MP's is something called treason as they take bribes and sell the people down the road.

exspences are chicken feed compared to this and even when they get caught taking money for questions they only face a slap on the rist.
