Smutmeister Ross Couldn't Handle Dame Edna

Recommended Posts

I don't mind Ross as a vaguely smutty chat show host and doing the odd award ceremony. He's amusing enough.

I just can't understand why he gets paid so much.

Barry Humphries is a genius, but doesn't do enough Les Patterson.

Dame Edna has been worn out and is becoming a bit of a drag.Sir Les was a fine creation and I think we should see more of the cultural attache with the Aussie Burgundy stained tie.Was it Barry McKenzie who used to "chunder" over everyone back in the 70's?

Humphries said recently that he'd like to see the back of Dame Edna, but she's the one who earns the dough. Maybe his lack of enthusiasm is starting to show.

I also love Sir Les, what better advert for such a fine nation?

"I've had liquid laughs in bars

And I've hurled from moving cars

And I've chuckled where and when it suited me

But if I could choose the spot

To regurgitate me lot

- I'd chunder in the old Pacific Sea!'

So don't come the raw prawn

When I technicolour yawn...."
