Tax Rises

Recommended Posts

The thought that I will be paying more tax in 12 months time whilst wages stagnate and pension schemes start to look shaky, all for the sake of the useless t@ssers who run this country makes me feel sick. Every time I hear Gormless Brown's voice nowadays I can't help but think Baseball Bat.

I just wondered how many other people were starting to feel a little deranged at times .. when does Joe Public start to get angry ???

Believe it or not, many will be envious of your ability to pay those extra taxes. For those left jobless, homeless etc in the wake of the huge ponzi scheme, paying a bit more tax will seem like the lap of luxury..

Having said that, you're 100% right. Those in work (or with a private income) will be squeezed ever harder. It won't be any consolation that much of this will come via stealth "eco-" taxes. And of course it will be counter-productive - the more mobile elite workers will simply decamp to another country. Plus, a lot of work will be generated for tax-avoidance accountants. There - Gordo's fixed it for us again!

Agreed, I pity those that are losing jobs. Problem is that Tax increases are just going to suck more money out of the economy ... leading most likely to ... more job losses.

Problem is there's no guarantee the tories won't just default to type and restrict public services whilst keeping the taps switched on for their City cronies. Either way we're all going to pay more. The only difference I see is who gets the money in the future.

City cronies are doing pretty well out of "socialism". The toothpaste has been squeezed out of the tube so no point kidding yourself that we are not in for a generation of higher taxation and reduced services whoever is incharge, Tories, Labour or IMF.

The only question is how much permanent damage to the economy can the politicians cause, because the more damage they do the longer recovery will take.

Increasing taxes and giving it to bankers in return for worthless cr@p assets or giving it to foreign investors as debt repayment is really the very worse thing to do during a depression just from the economic POV

As the OP mentions the emigration of skills and capital will have a long term detrimental effect

That's the banks for you.

If you feel that way why not take your money out and just use cash?
