Profits Up So Shares Up?

its all priced in dontchaknow. The market as a whole knows more than any one individual.

except it was very slow to notice the forthcoming crash and billions of losses were made.

Just bear in mind that 6 million job losses is a lot of cost taken out added straight to the bottom line.

And that cost saving is every year.

So whilst demand and sales are poor, harsh action can save a company. Particularly if they have slashed costs on an armageddon basis but sales haven't fallen quite as much as expected and margins have held a little more than expected.

Just thoughts. Not a view.

yeah but, no but, 6 million job losses affects the rest of the economy as they are not now spending. money should be a closed loop.

bank credit has ensured that it appears not to be.
