leftofcentre
Now can i say i only know the basic facts about the maze site, eg its a big lump of land going spare thats close to Belfast. BUT would it not be an idea to create an eco town like this: Guardian story Does anyone know any specifics about the maze site, eg how many houses you could put on the land? pootle
They were going to build a multi-sports stadium (i.e. one that is rubbish for all sports) despite it being a crap location. I got bored of the debate and don't know what happened in the end.
leftofcentre
Oh i know but i think thats dead in the water now. I know it will just end up in limbo and the site will never be used, but i am just doing a bit of blue sky thinking
pootle
Is it dead in the water? Good! It was a stupid idea. The problem with creating towns and then bribing people to move there is that you end up with places like Craigavon or Milton Keynes. Milton Keynes is great. 1. it has a ski slope http://www.xscape.co.uk/snow/milton-keynes/ 2. it is featured in 2009s "Best of British Roundabouts Calendar" http://www.roundaboutsofbritain.com/catalo...products_id=

Milton Keynes has an unfair advantage in the "Best R'abouts" stakes because it has most of them! They just seem to go forever ... don't go there if you get dizzy easily. Actually MK is a good example of fooking up the countryside. Loads of little villages (individual communities) consumed by a mass of concrete into an urban mess with no community. maxdiver
Northern Ireland has more than enough of what it needs anyway. Building anything there will just be another white elephant. Use it for farming.
