Government To Shut Down For The Summer

Recommended Posts

Westminster Factory Closed For 13 Weeks

All 646 MPs are being laid off this summer during the continuing downturn.

After doing all the right things to do, the consensus is that the Government will simply have to wait until all its measures for Building Britain's Future feed through into recovery.

The move will also ease the pressure on second home expenses during these difficult times.

The do-nothing Tories are concerned about having nothing to do all summer, but understand that the public does not wish to see them employed while large numbers are losing their jobs. 'It would send all the wrong signals' said one of the whips.

 unfortunately it smacks of the truth

On a serious note, does anyone think these kind of hols are justified?

Putin has suggested that, in view of the crisis, Duma members curtail their vacation.

Oh and by the way, there's a war on.

They do need to connect with the voters.

Are the voters allowed to select the voltage?

They'll be keeping a low profile, that's for sure.

TBH, I thought Gordon might have curtailed the hols too, given the resentment over part-time jobs. (Which it somehow takes many family members to assist in.)

Anyway, it has surely blown any chance of him declaring a Gov of National Emergency later on. That was on the cards.

To be honest, we'd probably be much better off if they worked for 13 weeks and took the other 39 as holiday.

Would rather see more robust debate on current problems etc. and greater scrutiny of government performance - BUT, also FAR LESS time spent debating and pushing through new legislation.

We need to slim down the statute book by a huge amount; and get this country free from suffocating laws and controls.
