Quango Chiefs Grab 20% Pay Rise

This one will make your blood boil. It seems many of Labour's 1200 odd QUANGOs have been giving fat pay rises (20%) to their chief execs and senior officers. Most of these people actually have little real responsibility and would never cut it in the real world and given that this is public money they are spending these awards and pay levels can't be justified. I personally consider this to be malfeasance in a public office and I won't accept the defence that these were pre-agreed contracts based on achieving levels of performance given that all public sector organisations rig their targets by making them too easy and then fiddling the system.

I genuinely believe we need to round up a lot of these people, seize their looted assets and put them into prison. This is theft, by any other name.

Having read that survival plus article linked here recently it all seems as he described.

The crazy thing is... 20% pa compounds to ludicrous levels in a few years, growing more than 6 fold in just 10 years.

This is the behaviour of people who don't see any long term viability to their jobs or what they do. They are literally telling you themselves that their jobs shouldn't exist.

Excellent.

Where do I apply to become the head of pointless Quango?

La La Land economics at it's finest.

Where do you think the present lot in parliament will end up after they are thrown out by the electorate ?

I knew someone who became head of a QUANGO from school - basically all his life has been spewing newlab rubbish, actively beliveves money grows on trees, etc., naturally fell in with the new labour movement, active party member etc all his adult life. Just ended up running a sizeable QUANGO as the timing was roight with the ascent of the Labour govt and the expanding state.

Malfeasance can only apply to some contracted obligation that exists exterior to common law.
