Callington Pl17

Or indeed anywhere within a sensible commuting distnace for a family?

An oblique post from you Patfig

Callington...IMO a nowhere town, close to Plymouth, Saltash, acceptable drive to Launceston, Liskeard or Tavistock..

I honestly cannot think of any reason why one would choose to live there....Gunnislake and Harrowbarrow offer scenery!

I should imagine Callington is very cheap, so if you are looking for a family home, it should be at a reasonable price. One important point to remember - location, location, location - and Callington aint.

After just looking at Rightmove, I have to eat my words. I can't believe the ridiculous, overpriced property on offer. Don't know how they justify it. The agents are having a laugh.

What sort of thing are you after - i.e. what type of property, what facilities do you want?

Tavistock the only one worth anything in that lot. Almost classy by SW standards. The rest are Deliverance towns, UK-style.

It rains a lot though, a bit less than Princetown, but not much.

What about Looe (outskirts thereof) or Cardinham (nice woody area just east of Bodmin).

You down that way Frank?

Cardinham is very nice but sooo overpriced - we looked there before settling in Snozzle

BTW Frank how is the anti rental project coming along ?

TBH mate the little I've seen of Tavistock I liked - it was just too far from work to make it viable - the thought of driving more than 10 miles in the summer in Cornwall leaves me cold. I take it you are going to be working in Callington ?

edited for spelling numptyness

Everybody on this board lives in Cornwall Pat, even Bart who pretends he lives somewhere called Sheffield and Mr Parry who has invented somewhere called Thailand, when he really lives in St Stephen. The one exception is Aunt Jess who lives in Devon.

I'm further west, Callington is terra incognita to me.

IMHO you can't go wrong with Cornwall. Most places are really nice, even the "bad" places are fine. And you get the options of the sea or the countryside. Rush hour doesn't really exist (outside Truro).

I wouldn't live anywhere else in Britain.

Next week now T... no rush.
