Thursday 9 June 2009

Lecture Room B, Nuffield Theatre, University Road Highfield 7.30 - 8.45

Who’s to Blame? Reasons for the current economic crisis

All welcome, although I ought to warn you that a dozen people would be a good turn out especially if the Students are busy revising !

Are you going to Clowns and Jesters for a beer beforehand?

Are they open at 6.30? I thought it was late nite thing - but anyway, might have a beer in the Stile afterwards.

Theyll all agree capitalism, pat each other on the back and be done with it. Government is the solution, after all.

btw, You mean 9th July right?

No, June.

I'm borrowing the Goldman Sachs time machine to get there.

It's tonight. I expect capitalists will be blamed, there will be disagreements and I don't think much will be achieved but it makes me feel better venting and it makes a change from reading and posting on forums.

But I'm having to give up the Tour de France round up on ITV4 and Pyschoville for this.

Hobbit then Jesters ?

Ahhh, those were the days. The Hobbit used to be a regular Saturday Night Gig for me (about 13 years ago).

Southampton Students were a great crowd to play for - didn't care what you played- they would throw themselves around to anything and their enthusiasim would rub off on the band.

Never had a bad gig there.

Students would troop off to Jesters after - sometimes we'd join them after packing up but it was too loud and too busy to lounge around in and bask in the post gig afterglow.

Did you go to Soton Uni then Ash?

The System :(

This is all getting like a rather tiresome game of Cluedo where someone has michieviously only put a weapon and location card in the little black envelope.

I really wanted to know because when it all went wrong the other year, the bankers kept appearing on TV telling us "now is not the time for blame". A fair bit of time has passed since, I was wondering when they'd announce it was now time for blame.
