First off, apologies for the OT nature of this thread but I believe a major linguistic discovery in the English language has been made. Have a look here: Keddling

Not only does this word have regional (Lancastrian) roots, but it also refers to the viciously anti-authority practice of balancing on a chair on the rear two legs.
